Geraldine Poole

We are heart-broken to have to announce the sudden death of one of our Trustees, Geraldine Poole. Geraldine had been a supporter of our work for many years, long before our charity, So the Child May Live, was officially set up. Together with her husband, Gerald, she played an active role in the running of all our various fund-raising activities, and was anxious to do everything she could to help save children’s lives in Nepal.

Geraldine and Gerald were both happy to become Trustees when So the Child May Live began operating as a charity and were delighted to meet and welcome people from Nepal whom we brought over to this country for specialist training and development.

Geraldine had been a tutor at a college in the Toxteth area of Liverpool, which aimed to give higher education and job opportunities to people from one of the poorest areas in the city. She was also an active member of Soroptimists International which works to advance the status, training and education of women and girls throughout the world.

After a period of deteriorating health she died in the Royal Liverpool Hospital on Tuesday, 30 November.
